   "The Town of Winthrop will honor the Cash and Murray families for their distinguished service in World War II and the Korean War at a ceremony Sunday morning on Point Shirley...
    Five Cash brothers, Albert Cash (U.S Army), Edward J. Cash (U.S. Army), Walter J. Cash (U.S. Navy), Joseph S. Cash (U.S. Navy), and Colin J. Cash U.S. Navy) and their brother, Joseph Murray, who was raised by the Cashes’ mother (Margaret McDonald), will be forever memorialized by the two-foot sign with metallic gold vinyl lettering."
Daniel Cash (Non-military)
Served in the Naval Boatyard in Portsmouth, N.H. Pier Supervisor at a Boston Army base
Catherine Cash (DoD Civilian)
Quonset Point Naval Station. Served in Hingham Ammunition Depot and later assembled K-rations.
Albert Cash (Merchant Marine, U.S Army)
Started off in the Merchant Marines. Enlisted in the National Guard in 1936 at Ft. Banks, Winthrop. Later became a Warrant Officer in 1942 on the U.S. Army Mine Planter Abbot. Served in World War II and the Korean War and facilitated a lot of the Unites States’ movement of equipment in to Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star for his life-saving actions under fire during a typhoon.

Walter Cash (U.S. Navy)
Ship was torpedoed. Possibly U.S. Steam Merchant Mary
Joseph Cash (Merchant Marine, U.S. Navy)
Joined Merchant Marine at age 16. Was aboard the Alcoa Partner when it was sunk in the Carribean, April 26, 1942. Joined U.S. Navy at age 18.
Joseph Murray (U.S. Army)
Fought in Battle of the Bulge, was captured and held as POW until the end of the war.
